Taylor + Georges’ Lüne Abbey, Lüneburg Germany Wedding

Feb 23, 2019

This past August I set off on a long weekend adventure to Lüneburg, Germany, where I photographed the wedding of Taylor Keene and Georges Decken. These two met and fell in love in New Zealand, where they currently reside, and planned their wedding in Georges’ home country of Germany.

Taylor and Georges chose the iconic Kloster Lüne as their venue: this historic Benedictine structure is currently home to 10 conventuals, including the grooms mother. Lüne Abbey was founded in 1172 and in 1380 the monastery was rebuilt in the brick gothic style after a major fire. The building and grounds are a breathtaking piece of history with sprawling gardens, an apple orchard, and medieval courtyards. I count myself lucky to have seen it with my own eyes.

It’s always been a dream of mine to work as a destination wedding photographer. Shooting a wedding in Europe was one of my most educational experiences, and I can’t wait to do it again!
